Uptown Festival Album • Shalamar • 1977

Uptown Festival is the first album credited to American R&B group Shalamar, released in 1977 on the Soul Train label. The album was in fact recorded by session singers. It peaked at #22 on the US R&B chart and #48 on the Billboard Albums chart. The title track, "Uptown Festival," was recorded at Ike & Tina Turner's Bolic Sound studio. It's a medley of ten Motown classics sung over a 1970s disco beat. The single was a hit in both the US and the UK.

Car Wash Album • Rose Royce • 1976

Car Wash: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is a soundtrack double album released by the funk band Rose Royce on the MCA label in September 1976. It was produced by Norman Whitfield. It is the soundtrack/film score to the 1976 hit comedy Car Wash that featured Richard Pryor and George Carlin and is also the debut album for Rose Royce.

Metal Health Album • Quiet Riot • 1983

Metal Health is the third studio album by American heavy metal band Quiet Riot, released on March 11, 1983. The album spawned the hit singles "Cum On Feel the Noize" and "Metal Health". It was the band's first album to receive a worldwide release, as the first two were released only in Japan. Metal Health was the first heavy metal album to reach number one on the Billboard 200 chart, replacing the Police's Synchronicity at number one in November 1983. Due to its commercial success, Metal Health is regarded by some as the catalyst that opened the door for hair metal's immense popularity throughout the next several years. The album went on to sell more than ten million copies worldwide.

Uncle B Album • N-Dubz • 2008

Uncle B is the debut studio album released by British hip hop group N-Dubz. The album is dedicated to former N-Dubz manager and father of Dappy, Byron Contostavlos, who died shortly before the band were signed to their second record label All Around the World. It entered the official UK Albums Chart at number 11. On 6 January 2009 it was announced on the official All Around the World website that the album had gone platinum. Seven singles have been released from the album, with the first three being released by LRC, and the last four being released by All Around the World. The album was not released until in 2008, despite recording starting in 2006. This was due to the group changing record label from LRC to All Around the World.

Heaven Knows is the debut studio album by British soul singer Jaki Graham. It was released in September 1985 by EMI Records.

Paul Sexton of Record Mirror felt that "the sound's just that bit too fierce, too hi-tech almost, for her to shine", and that overall, "for the singles, excellent; for some of the rest, Jaki can and will do miles better"

Smooth Talk is the debut album, released in 1977 by R&B singer Evelyn "Champagne" King by RCA Records and produced by Theodore Life. It contains singles "Shame", also one of King's signature songs, and "I Don't Know If It's Right", both of which were hits in the United States and Canada. Outside North America in music charts, "Shame" performed modestly in a few European countries, while the latter performed poorly in British and New Zealand charts.
